  24. WHAT IS IT?

  26.   XBM DataType is a picture datatype for displaying and saving XBM
  27.   pictures under Amiga OS Release 3.0 or better.

  32.                         XBM - X BitMap Format
  33.  
  34.  
  35.   XBM is a native file format of The X Window System and is used for
  36.   storing cursor and icon bitmaps that are used in the X GUI. XBM files
  37.   are quite different in that they are actually C language source files
  38.   that are created to be read by a C compiler rather than a graphical
  39.   display program.

  41.   XBM was created by the X Consortium as part of the X Window
  42.   System. Refer to the /bitmaps directory of the X Window distribution
  43.   for examples of XBM files.

  46. FEATURES

  48.   - DTWM_RAW DTM_WRITE support (can use DTConvert to convert back to
  49.     XBM).
  50.   - Transparency support for web browsers, etc.
  51.   - Preferences for background colour and foreground colour settings.
  52.   - Compatible with IPrefs (no need for FastIPrefs).
  53.   - Compatible with MultiView with stack size of 4096 bytes.
